Doctors "need to be prepared to deal with families who are waiting for a miracle," say researchers.

Recent survey results which appeared in Monday’s edition of Archives of Surgery revealed that more than half of people, who were polled, believe that God can revive one who is dying.

A report on the census by the Christian Post stated that "57 percent of randomly surveyed adults [in the U.S.] said God's intervention could save a family member even if physicians declared treatment would be futile. And nearly three-quarters said patients have a right to demand such treatment."

Researchers noted that doctors "need to be prepared to deal with families who are waiting for a miracle."

According to the Christian Post, "Dr. Lenworth Jacobs, a University of Connecticut surgery professor and trauma chief at Hartford Hospital, was the lead author" of the survey.
