PLEASE PRAY: ISIS Attacks Assyrian Villages in Syria, at Least 4 Killed, Churches Burned; Nearly 100 Christians Captured-Men, Women and Children

"Calls made by relatives of the captives have been answered by ISIS members, who have said there is nothing to be done for the hostages." -AINA report

(Hassaka, Syria)—According to reports, ISIS attacked Assyrian (Christian) villages in Syria on Monday, killing 4 guards, and capturing dozens—some reports saying from 70, 'up to 100' men, women and children. (Photo: Assyrian Christians flee ISIS/via AINA)

Some 3,000 people managed to flee to neighboring villages during the fighting, which engulfed Tel Goran, Tel Hurmiz, Tel Tamar, Tel Baloaa, Tel Shamiran, Tel Riman, Tel Nasra, Tel Khareta, and Abu Tena, said an AINA report.

Those captured—about 50 from Tel Shamiran and approximately 40 from Tel Jazira—are reported to be held captive by ISIS in those villages.

A Newsweek report stated that ISIS' plan is to use the hostages as tools in a prisoner swap with Kurdish fighters.

In addition to the fighting, Christian churches have also been destroyed, including in Tel Hurmiz, one of Syria's oldest churches, according to the AINA report.

Please pray for these Christians, the latest to be captured by these Islamic terrorists.
