In an interview with DoveTV's Perry Atkinson, Carson was asked what he thought about the hot-button issue - specifically, if solving it would solve the rest of America's spiritual problems to an extent. (Photo courtesy: wikipedia.org) "It's interesting that we sit around and call other ancient civilizations 'heathen' because of child sacrifice. But aren't we actually guilty of the same thing?" Carson replied. "As someone who has spent a lifetime trying to save the lives of children," he wrote on his website, "even with intrauterine surgery, it is probably not difficult to imagine why I am extremely oriented toward efforts to preserve human life, especially innocent human life that has yet to experience the extra uterine world." Carson has fallen into some heat for supporting pro-choice Oregon Republican Monica Wehby in her bid for U.S. Senate. I was asked recently how I could possibly endorse the U.S. Senate candidacy of Monica Wehby, who is running as a Republican from Oregon. She is pro-choice, which in the opinion of many makes her unacceptable as a conservative. Carson said he called Wehby to query her personally about her stance on abortion.
