(Chickasha, OK) - 16-year-old McKenzie Wetherton was a first-time jumper when she spiraled out of control on her descent to the ground.
Her father Joe described how only half of his daughter's parachute opened as she jumped out of the plane; a statement contradicted by the owner of the skydiving company Wetherton used. (Photo via CNN video clip)
Mr. Wetherton, who was watching his daughter hurtling toward the earth, said that she arched her back and screamed when she hit the ground.
Currently, McKenzie is in ICU where doctors have assured her parents she will survive.
