Incredibly, scientists have only been able to verify two other fabrics discovered in the last 2,000 years that contain the rare dye.

(Israel)—The Israel Antiquities Authority has announced they have found a 2,000-year-old piece of fabric dyed with extract from the Murex Trunculus which produced a unique color called "teckhelet" (meaning blue or turquoise) in Hebrew, and was used on the blue fringe of priestly garments.
