Evin Prison is known as one of the most brutal prisons in the world.

(Iran)—After being put in solitary confinement in Evin Prison in Tehran, persecuted American pastor Saeed Abedini is now said to be suffering serious kidney problems. (Photo: a guard at Evin Prison/REUTERS)

A report in the Christian Post notes that Pastor Saeed has not received any medical help for his internal bleeding, a result of the beatings he has endured for his faith.

Abedini's wife, Naghmeh, released a statement saying, "We believe that he is being beaten in solitary confinement. We have no way of finding out about his health. There will be no more visitations allowed and we will have no way of knowing how Saeed is doing."
