Known for the hits "This Magic Moment" and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."

(Syracuse, KS) - Some readers may remember pop star Frankie Valens whose hits This Magic Moment and The Lion Sleeps Tonight topped record charts in the 1960's.

Well, that 70-year-old pop star is now a pastor at First Christian Church in Syracuse, Kansas.

According to a Thomson Reuters report, Valens performed Gospel music with his wife Phyllis after his success in the secular realm. (Photo courtesy: Reuters)

The church Valens' pastors is the same church where his father once preached.
