"These are the pillars of a competitive tax code, now permanent law. Each one gives manufacturers the confidence to invest, hire and grow." -Jay Timmons, President of National Association of Manufacturers (NAM)
[Newsbusters.org] "H.R. 1 is one of the most consequential pieces of legislation in a generation," National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) President Jay Timmons said, announcing release of a report providing examples of how members nationwide have benefited from last year's passage of the Trump Administration's tax reform bill. H.R. 1, also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) or the Working Families Tax Cut Act (WFTCA), was signed into law by President Donald Trump on July 4, 2025. In addition to providing new tax cuts, it also permanently extended expiring tax reforms.
NAM's website outlines the benefits of the bill's enactment:
"For years, manufacturers made a simple promise: a competitive tax code would let them invest, hire and grow here at home. With the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed into law on July 4, 2025, Congress made the 2017 tax reforms permanent and added powerful new incentives to build in America—and manufacturers are delivering."
In all, NAM research attributes six million jobs saved, $540 billion in worker wages and $1.1 trillion in US Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to the enactment of H.R. 1.
"These are the pillars of a competitive tax code, now permanent law. Each one gives manufacturers the confidence to invest, hire and grow," NAM says, noting six vital elements of the bill:
"Congress and the administration delivered the permanent, pro-growth tax code manufacturers needed to invest in their people, purchase new equipment and plan confidently for the long term," NAM Pres. Timmons said in a press release, titled "H.R. 1 at Work: 50 Manufacturing Tax Wins in 50 States."
The release introduces the publication of NAM's "Manufacturing Tax Wins Across America," a "flipbook featuring 50 success stories driven by the permanent pro-growth tax provisions in H.R. 1."
The publication presents one example from each state showing how a manufacturer has prospered and contributed to its local economy thanks to H.R. 1. In particular, the release highlights six stories featured in "Manufacturing Tax Wins Across America":
"I have seen firsthand that long-term tax certainty translates into workforce certainty," said Snap-on Chairman and CEO and NAM Vice Chair for Tax and Finance Policy Nick Pinchuk. "This law was an investment in the American worker."
Last Thursday, NAM published news of how a Pennsylvania manufacturer not featured in the flipbook has expanded as a result of H.R. 1.
"Metals producer Ellwood has grown by about 25–30% in 2026—thanks in large part to the 2025 tax law," NAM reports:
"Ellwood, which sells to aviation and defense manufacturers, is currently building a $90-million-plus vacuum induction melting facility for critical metal components." Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
