Jackson, president of STAND (Staying True to America's National Destiny), said his organization is traveling the country with its "Truth Tour," which he described as an effort to teach "facts about American history you were never taught."
During an interview with nationally syndicated radio host Todd Starnes, Jackson reacted to recent criticism of Smithsonian exhibits and educational materials that conservatives say promote left-wing ideology. Jackson pointed to examples that have sparked outrage, including museum materials that characterized politeness as an expression of "white supremacy" and exhibits likening Mickey Mouse to blackface.
"When you hear, once again, I've already heard this before, politeness is white supremacy," Jackson said. "And you just wonder what world do these people come from? Because to me, it's really not only an attack on civility, it's an attack of Judeo-Christian principles. I mean, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Being polite is just a way of being mannerly and decent, but oh, no, no. It's white supremacy."
Jackson said the ideological shift inside the Smithsonian has been underway for years, recalling his successful campaign to remove Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger from the National Portrait Gallery.
"They've been up to these shenanigans for a while," he said.
When asked why America's premier museum system would embrace progressive interpretations of history, Jackson argued the objective is nothing less than cultural transformation.
"Todd, it's very clear," Jackson said. "It's the transformation of our culture. In order to transform America, you've got to disconnect us from our true history. You can't talk about the nobility and the virtue of the Founding Fathers. You can't talk about the beauty of a country that gives more individual liberty, has guaranteed more individual liberty and human dignity than any other nation on earth."
Instead, Jackson said, critics seek to portray America as fundamentally unjust.
"You've got talk about things that you think will cause people to resent America, be bitter against America, believe that America is essentially so flawed that you've got to have a revolution or fundamental transformation. I think that's really what the end game is."
Jackson also connected what he sees as historical revisionism with the growing popularity of democratic socialism among younger Americans.
"If they understood the true nature of Marxism, socialism, communism—the genocidal nature, the people it's starved, the people it's incarcerated, the people it's tortured—I would think they would say, 'Well, you know, I don't think that that's what we want,'" Jackson said. "But instead they're told, 'We're gonna do it the right way. We're going to have Marxism, socialism, communism light.' It's never worked in human history and it won't work this time either."
Jackson said the answer is a renewed commitment to teaching accurate American history and restoring the nation's Judeo-Christian foundations.
"We've got to restore the fundamentals," he said. "We've also got to reassert the Judeo-Christian cultural foundations of our nation... We've been better than any other nation on earth.
