[EARLIER] It was reported earlier today that a US F-15E fighter jet had been shot down over southwestern Iran, in the Khuzestan Province. A US-led search and rescue for the two pilots was initiated, with helicopters circling the region.
Not long after, one of the fighter pilots was reported rescued and safe, and the search continued for the other.
Meanwhile, Iranian independent journalist Goldie Ghamari, broadcasting "Day 97 of the Iranian Revolution Live" on YouTube from Canada, noted how if the people in the area find the US crew member, he will be in friendly hands.
"Guys, that's my province, that's my tribe," said Ghamari, "and if any of the Iranian people there find the pilot, I guarantee they will keep him safe. It's just a race against time to find him before the Islamic regime does."
Unfortunately, the IRGC has also issued a message putting a bounty on the head of the remaining pilot, hoping someone will find the crew member and turn him or her in to the regime.
