Russia-Ukraine Ceasefire Brokered by First Lady Melania Trump is Holding, and Has Expanded

[CNN.com] A localized ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine around the occupied city of Oleshky that first lady Melania Trump helped to broker has now gone into effect, officials on both sides said Tuesday. Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian parliament commissioner for human rights, said on X that the ceasefire went into effect at 3:00 a.m. Kyiv time Tuesday. ... The first lady announced Tuesday that the ceasefire area had expanded "beyond Oleshky, within the Kherson Region, to provide safe passage for the humanitarian convoys." She said that the expanded region was "confirmed" by Russian official General Valery Vasilyevich (Gerasimov), and that it went into effect two days earlier than she had previously announced in order "to protect the safety of civilians and to facilitate the delivery of critical humanitarian aid."...
