The Undercroft: The New Museum Located Underneath the Lincoln Memorial Opens in Time for America's 250th Birthday (Video)

(Washington, DC) — [WJLA.com] ...The statue dedicated to America's 16th President has sat on the National Mall for over 100 years. After a few years of renovations, the memorial will debut in time for America's 250th birthday and will now offer a 15,000 square foot undercroft experience. The undercroft is a structure that supports the Memorial. And its transformation will now showcase a museum exhibit including iterative displays and the Emancipation Proclamation signed by President Lincoln. "We have the icing on the cake by having two exhibits, the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th amendment," Dr. Kevin Griess, the National Park Superintendent, told 7News. "We left it all raw, so you can see the day in the life of a person building the greatest memorial in the United States," he added...
