The Hoover Dam is a symbol of American ingenuity and our ability to get big jobs done, so it's completely appropriate to include it in the celebration.

...Nevada and Arizona leaders came together to adorn the iconic landmark with a 300-foot-tall, 150-foot-wide flag during the road to America250 ceremony, making it one of the most ambitious patriotic displays ever attempted. The dam was also lit up with red, white, and blue lights at night as part of the dramatic installation.

"As we approach America's 250th anniversary, Nevada is proud to help tell the story of innovation, exploration, and progress that shapes our nation, from Hoover Dam to our growing technology and infrastructure sectors to the world-class tourism industry," Republican Nevada Gov.
