Now in its sixth year, the California March for Life serves as a beacon of hope and unity for thousands of pro-life individuals across the Golden State and is leading the charge to proclaim the dignity of every human life, born and unborn.
Although the march begins at 1 p.m. with marchers heading east on N Street around the capitol grounds, an expected crowd of over 1000 pro-life Californians will gather on the west step of the Capitol at 12 p.m. for a pre-march rally.
Speakers at this year's rally will include:
* (Keynote) Jennie Bradley Lichter, President of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund
* Assemblywoman Leticia Castillo, Assembly District 58
* Pastor John Randall, Senior Pastor of Calvary South OC
* Father James Tasy, Priest of the Diocese of Fresno

The March will be led by students from California Baptist University, Riverside, and Jessup University, Rocklin.
Marchers Head to Legislative Offices
After the march, participants will be encouraged to visit their elected representatives to express support for two life-affirming bills: AB 2073 by Assemblywoman Natasha Johnson (R-Riverside) and AB 1628 by Assemblywoman Michelle Rodriguez (D-Los Angeles). Both of these bills strengthen California's Safely Surrendered Baby Law, SB 1368 passed in 2000. That law's intent was to save lives of newborn infants at risk of abandonment by encouraging parents or persons with lawful custody to safely surrender the infant within 72 hours of birth, with no questions asked. According to the CA Department of Social Services, 1,542 babies have been safely surrendered using this law.
AB 1628: This bill extends the surrender window from 72 hours to 30 days, which would align California with the majority of other states with Safe Surrender Laws.
AB 2073: Authorizes hospitals and fire stations to install secure infant safety devices sometimes called "baby boxes." These climate-controlled, 24-hour monitored devices will be attached to a fire stations or hospital buildings to provide a safe, anonymous surrender option for mothers in crisis.
Jennie Bradley Lichter, March for Life President shared:
"March for Life is proud to join our friends at the California Family Council to stand up for life in Sacramento. I am looking forward to rallying and marching with pro-life Californians as we make our mission clear: protect babies; support women and families; and share the message that life is a gift, no matter the circumstances."
Jonathan Keller, President, California Family Council, shared:
"We at the California Family Council are thrilled to once again partner with the National March for Life and our amazing local, state, and national allies for the fifth annual California March for Life in Sacramento. Every child in California, whether born or unborn, possesses inherent value and dignity that we are called to protect. We warmly invite all Californians to stand with us at the Capitol on Monday, March 16, 2026, for a powerful day of advocacy, prayer, and dedication in the cause of life!"
