Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in full damage-control mode after a disastrous Oval Office meeting with President Donald Trump last week, admitting in a Tuesday statement that the meeting "did not go the way it was supposed to."

In a post on X Tuesday, Zelenskyy finally acknowledged what Trump has been saying all along—Ukraine cannot continue fighting a perpetual war and must come to the negotiating table.
