IFA Prayer: Lord, Stop Money from Flowing to the Wicked

Could it be that God's will is to turn the hearts of wicked "kings"—those who are very successful in business and thereby control large fortunes—to righteousness?

Are you tired of hearing about how wicked people with lots of money seem to be single-handedly funding the devil's work in our nation? If so, join me in praying the Scriptures today to stop the flow of money to the wicked!

Proverbs 13:22 tells us that it is God's will for His people to control the world's finances:

"A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous." (Proverbs 13:22 NKJV).

The wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. That means that even the vast fortunes controlled by wicked men must inevitably be turned over to the hands of God's people. But how will that great wealth transfer happen?

I don't pretend to have all the answers, but God's Word does give us a big clue in Proverbs 21:1:

"The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes." (Proverbs 21:1 NKJV).

Could it be that God's will is to turn the hearts of wicked "kings"—those who are very successful in business and thereby control large fortunes—to righteousness? It definitely is, for:

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9).

If we apply these three Scriptures to the field of political funding and donations, we can clearly discern God's will:

• God's people are ultimately supposed to have the money that sinners currently hold;
• God can turn the hearts of "kings"—those with great economic power and influence—wherever He wishes; and
• God wants everyone to be saved, even the wicked "kings."
• Also, it is worthwhile to point out that, even if a king on this earth refuses God, that king's money still belongs to God—and is still laid up for the righteous.

When it comes to political funding, wealth is a big deal and deserves our concentrated prayers.

Every year, it seems like we hear bigger and bigger numbers about how much each candidate and political party spends on advertising, lobbying, and more. The amount of wealth spent on political campaigns is astronomical. And without that wealth, a political campaign is dead in the water.

Either He would save them or they would refuse His wooing. If He saves them, the fruit of their lives will cause them to redirect their funding to righteous causes. And if they refuse His wooing, the wealth of the wicked is still laid up for the righteous.

Beloved, if we pray the Scriptures back to God, He can take even the wealth of the most wicked king and place it in the hands of His Kingdom people.

Would you join with me in praying this simple prayer today?:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You in Jesus' name.

Father, we believe You with childlike faith today. Your Word says that it is not Your will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. And You see how important it is for our nation to return to righteous government—which means that righteous people need to be elected.

Therefore, we specifically pray today that You would draw the wicked kings of our nation to Yourself:

• We ask in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that Your Holy Spirit would pursue each of these wicked kings like a mighty hound from Heaven.
• We ask that Holy Spirit would reveal Jesus to them, convicting them of sin, righteousness, and judgment.
• Save these kings of the earth, that the inheritance of Jesus would increase.
• Let Jesus receive the reward of His suffering in them.
• When You save them, change their hearts so much that the wealth they previously used for evil would be turned to flow into the hands of the righteous.

But Lord, we also pray that if any of the kings of the earth refuse Your wooing, You would remove their wealth from them and place it in the hands of the righteous:

• Your Word says that the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the righteous, so we ask that You would remove the wealth from sinners' hands and bring it into ours.
• Turn the fortunes of the world to flow toward holiness.
• Bring abundant funding for godly missions, godly enterprises, and godly efforts of every kind.
• Bring abundant funding to every political campaign that YOU endorse.
Lord, You can turn the hearts of the kings like water—and we ask You to do so.

Stop the flow of money into the camps of the wicked and turn it into the camps of the righteous instead. Bring back the days where Your people won every battle—yes, in the strength and power of Your might—and where they despoiled the tents of the enemy. Let all the treasures of the wicked turn into the hands of the people of God today, and flaunt Your power and victory to the world.

Thank You, Abba Father. We give You all the praise. In Jesus' name we pray, amen and amen."

Friend, God's Word is true even if we don't see all of His promises manifested yet.

I know it can be discouraging when we hear about seemingly endless amounts of money being funneled into the hands of evil people, BUT GOD is not going to put up with that forever. His Word assures us that YOU are the inheritor of those funds if you have given your life to Jesus.
