Security Cam Captures Moment Hero Teacher Saves Choking Student's Life: 'He Needs My Help'

[Faithwire.com] A New Jersey teacher is being hailed a hero after saving a panicked child who choked on a plastic bottle cap during class. (Screengrab image)

Students were working in JaNiece Jenkins' classroom last Wednesday at East Orange Community Charter School in East Orange, New Jersey, when a third-grader named Robert was suddenly in crisis.

Security video filmed in the classroom shows the 9-year-old boy trying to get the cap off his water bottle by using his teeth after he failed to open it with his hands—and that's when the plastic became lodged in his throat.

"I started it with my teeth, and then I was squeezing it a little, and then the water pushed the cap to my throat," he told WABC-TV. (Screengrab image)

Robert tried to go to a sink in the classroom to cough the plastic piece out but was unable to do so. He then ran over to Jenkins, who immediately realized, "He needs my help," and started the Heimlich maneuver... Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
