God Speaks through the Tower of Voices

We were recently invited to be a part of a team of seven, with connections to Shekinah church in Ann Arbor Michigan, on a whirlwind prayer journey to Washington D.C. The adventure began as we took communion before jumping in the church van, praying for divine encounters and signs along the way.

The first divine detour occurred in Pennsylvania. After a brief lunch stop, we clamored back into the van and set the GPS for C Street in Washington DC. The GPS led us on a completely circuitous route, and we ended up in rural Pennsylvania.  We pulled over and debated backtracking to the freeway when we noticed we were just a couple of miles from the Flight 93 memorial! We knew God had orchestrated this moment and we had to follow! As we entered this National Park, dedicated to memorializing that fateful day, 9/11, we found the Tower of Voices.

"The Tower of Voices is conceived as a monumental, ninety-three feet tall musical instrument holding forty wind chimes, representing the forty passengers and crew members. The intent is to create a set of forty tones (voices) that can connote through consonance the serenity and nobility of the site while also through dissonance recalling the event that consecrated the site." (from the National Parks Website).

We were deeply touched as we reflected on the courage and self-sacrifice of the 40 passengers and crew members. Realizing their plane was headed for the Capitol or White House, they determined to take a stand. They overtook the terrorists, thus saving our nation from further destruction, causing the plane to crash in an open field. We felt we were on hallowed ground.

We were heading back to the van to move on to other parts of the site when we knew we needed to go back to the Tower of Voices. Standing in the base of the Tower, we began to sing "Spirit Holy Wind of God We Welcome You" penned by Patricia Ridings:

"Spirit Holy wind of God, we welcome You. Come purify our hearts.
As a wheat field bows down low, as the wind begins to blow,
Make us willing, Lord, to bend before the power of Your wind."

As we sang a strong wind began to blow and actually caused the 8 prototype wind chimes to sound despite being under construction and TETHERED! In this Hebrew decade of PEY (voice, mouth, wind, breath) their voices still speak.

We felt the Lord was saying: the 40 voices represent a generation that took action to shut down the onslaught of the enemy by interceding with their very lives.

September 2020, the United States of America stands poised in history on the brink of a collision course between the forces of those who seek to destroy our very fabric of life and those who must take a stand, unite, and raise a voice declaring truth, life, and liberty.

Fear, unrest, and rioting are running rampant in our cities.  Terrorism exists within and without our borders.  The throes of evil are hurtling towards our nations' capital and the White House, endeavoring to rewrite our history and tear down any memorial for which we stand.  A clarion call must sound loud and clear!  Will this generation rise to the challenge, inspired by those who have gone before us?  The Heroes of Flight 93 stir and impel us to resist the onslaught of evil.

We believe God is compelling His Bride in this hour to step into our prayer closets as well as gathering together to humble ourselves before Him to intercede – lifting our voices to Heaven to arrest the schemes of the enemy, pressing in until we see His Kingdom come forth on the earth!  It's time to take action and arise!
