[Pursue Him International] I was intrigued by a recent piece of news that I read online. It talked about a town called Saharanpur (My mom's native!) in the Indian State of Uttar Pradesh. (Image: Tweeted by @rameshpandeyifs)

For the first time in over 30 years, snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas became visible from Saharapur as pollution dropped due to the current COVID-19 lockdown causing the Air Quality Index (AQI) to dip below 50.

For an entire generation in Saharanpur that grew up listening to stories from elders that they used to see the mountains from the dusty town, it was a pleasant surprise for many as snow-laden peaks were visible once again. Stunned residents took to social media to express their joy, sharing the pictures of the mountains.

Wow, this news reminded me 5 realities of the spiritual realm:

1: Don't underestimate the unseen

The spirit realm (unseen) is more real than the natural realm (seen). Just because we cannot see or feel it, doesn't mean we underestimate or ignore it.

2: Don't fix your eyes on the temporary

We need to fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal (2 Corin 4:18). All that is in the natural will fade away—Buildings, houses, vehicles, bank balances—everything. What is built by God is what will last. The works that will count are the works that have Jesus as its foundation. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person's work (1 Corin 3:12-13).

What you hide has power over your life.

3: Clear the air

In order for us to get more sensitive to the spiritual realm, simply praying: "Lord open my eyes" is not enough. We got to clear the air! Create an environment of God's presence by decluttering your heart, cutting off from your distractions and renewing your mind. Learn to be still, learn to wait and fellowship with God on a continual basis. We got to be intentional in our consciousness of the spirit realm and depend less on the natural senses and more on our spiritual sense. That's the birthing place of faith, and faith is the language of the supernatural.

4: Talk more about it

So important to talk about what you want to see God manifest in your life. Leaders talk about it to your church; parents talk about it to your children. The Bible says: One generation will commend Your works to the next, and they shall proclaim Your mighty acts, the glorious splendor of Your majesty (Psalm 145:4-5). The more you talk about it, the easier it will be for you and the people around you to walk in it!

5: Don't give up

Don't give up, when your natural mind tells you nothing is working! Remember the mountain range didn't become visible on the first day of the lockdown! Keep consistent at pursuing the heart of God. He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6)... Subscribe for free to Breaking Christian News here
