"My passion is to train a new generation of leaders in the rule of law from a Christian perspective to use law as a fulcrum to do good. "
(Lynchburg, VA)–Beginning [this week], Liberty University School of Law is hosting the TeenPact Judicial program for the second consecutive year. This program offers teens and young adult students a leadership experience and preparation for becoming leaders in the field of law. Students who attend this program will also have the opportunity to earn a scholarship to the Liberty University School of Law.
TeenPact Judicial (TPJ) is an intense week-long program that is designed to instruct highly motivated students who are interested in the study of law. Many of the topics presented are core legal topics tested on many state bar exams and provide a good introduction to these areas of law. This summer marks the twelfth year for the TeenPact Judicial program.
Professors at the law school and constitutional attorneys with Liberty Counsel will participate in teaching topics, including Foundations of Law, Property, Contracts, Civil Procedure, Constitutional Law, Torts, Criminal Law, and Oral Advocacy. As the students approach the second half of the week, they will enjoy the unique challenge of competing in the TeenPact Moot Court tournament, where they moot a case before a variety of judges and apply what they have learned during the week.
In January the School of Law announced the creation of "The New Generation TeenPact Scholarship," which will be awarded annually to selected qualifying students who have excelled in the TeenPact Judicial program.
Mathew D. Staver, Founder of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, commented on the TPJ Moot Court program: "My passion is to train a new generation of leaders in the rule of law from a Christian perspective to use law as a fulcrum to do good.. The TeenPact Judicial program is one of the best programs in the country for teens interested in law. These students will be our future leaders. They are energetic, bright, and eager to become world leaders. In a few short years, they will begin shaping world history."
