"God remains the only answer to man's problems."
(Lagos, Nigeria)—Acting on a dream for his nation, Rev. Father Raphael Fagbohun, who is also an Assistant Superintendent of Police, is offering spiritual guidance and education to the Nigerian police force to help them tackle the challenges of their job. When completed, the centre he has developed to accomplish this dream would reportedly cater for the spiritual need of policemen all over the country.
As reported in All Africa News, the priest believes that his country's civil service needs the spiritual centre because money without morality will lead to doom. (Map: LonelyPlanet.com)
"The center is the first of its kind in Africa," said Fagbohun, "I don't know whether they have it in Europe or America, it is going to be a centre for moral and spiritual orientation, it's a legacy for the Nigerian Police and the country. Even the electoral reform we are talking about, if the person in charge of elections is morally upright, we wouldn't have rigged elections. Reform is not the issue, but adding God to everything we have."
Explaining his dual role as priest and policeman, Fagbohun said, "I manage my spirituality in my normal day to day life with God, even as I carry out my normal duties as a police officer," adding that there is no better way to [perform his duties as a policeman] than to be fulfilled.
Most Rev. Dr Martin Uzoukwu was quoted as saying God remains the only answer to mans' problems. "If we pray together as a family, we must also succeed as a family," he said.
