Colorado Woman Advertises a Homecooked Thanksgiving Meal in Her Home on Craigslist
"God bless you, not many people would open their homes to the less fortunate."
(Littleton, Colorado)—Out of "Little Britches" country comes the story of one Monique White who—having faced homelessness in the past herself—advertised a Thanksgiving dinner in her home on Craigslist. The response has been amazing, and this Thanksgiving she is set to have 32 strangers share a homecooked meal with her.
One person who replied to White’s ad said, "'God bless you, not many people would open their homes to the less fortunate."
Said White, in response, "I'm not doing it [the meal] to be awesome, I'm doing it for their benefit. This isn't about me, trying to help somebody. We were near homeless, and in the past year things have been turned around for us. I feel compelled to give back in some way, either through fellowship or through giving a meal, but some way."
