Little Brenden Foster is determined to accomplish more in Heaven than he could on Earth.
(Lynnwood, Washington)—11-year-old Brenden Foster, diagnosed with leukemia last year, was told by doctors that he's living on borrowed time. Saying that he knows death is near and too ill to walk or leave his bed, the brave young boy has a wish, and that is to feed the poor.
"I should be gone in a week or so," said Brenden. Commenting on a local homeless camp, he added, "I was coming back from one of my clinic appointments and I saw this big thing of homeless people, and then I thought I should just get them something." (AP Photo)
His mother, Wendy Foster, notes her son has always been compassionate. "He's always thought about others," she said. "Never complained about having to go through this, ever.
"It's devastating," she continued, noting that Brenden fully intends to accomplish more in Heaven than he did on Earth. "But I find great peace in knowing we've had our time together and that we will see each other again."
Brenden is also adamant that no one cry for him. "I had a great time and until my time has come," he said. "I'm gonna keep having a good time."
