Traditional Marriage Upheld in Election

"Florida and Arizona on Tuesday became the 28th and 29th states to amend their constitutions to define marriage as the union between one man and one woman, and California's marriage amendment also [appears to be passing]." -Citizen Link

Values voters made their voices heard regarding traditional marriage as amendments were passed in both Arizona and Florida to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman.

The heavily contested Proposition 8 in California—which also upholds traditional marriage—appeared to be passing as well, on Wednesday. To see current election results on Prop. 8, CLICK HERE.

Ron Prentice, Executive Director of the California Family Council said, "We know God has gone before us. Tens of thousands of people were praying over the weekend…praying and fasting for 40 days to give victory to California and protect marriage."

Matt Staver, Liberty Counsel's founder and chairman remarked on Florida's marriage amendment. "This is a victory for children and for the future of Florida," he said.
