"Chinese people really care about who will be the next President, they really care about what's happening in the U.S."
Since this is a presidential election year in the USA, many foreign journalists have come on an extended visit to America, to observe the campaigns and political process. Among them, a group of student journalists from China, has been intently monitoring the candidates and the involvement of ordinary citizens.

Zhang Yan, one of the Chinese students, admitted to being inspired by the two conventions, "I…got fired up by the people surrounding me. Though I'm not a citizen of this country, I can feel their passion."
Another student noted the amount of people involved; "common people, high class people, middle class people; they are all involved in these elections."
Although most Americans probably don't stop to think about it on Election Day; other countries are watching, and are very interested in the process.
Student Hua Qi echoes that sentiment: "Chinese people really care about who will be the next President, they really care about what's happening in the U.S."
