"To be able to take the tools, the apprenticeship, whatever I learned from being a vampire writer, or whatever I was—to be able to take those tools now and put them in the service of God is a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful opportunity." -Ann Rice
Fans of "Southern Goth" were amazed—and perhaps dismayed—when in 2002, best-selling author of vampire novels galore; Ann Rice, gave up atheism and returned to her childhood faith with a new passion.
Christians rejoiced, as did—no doubt—Heaven.

In her memoir, Called Out of Darkness: A Spiritual Confession, Ann relates the journey from the dismal hauntings of her previous shadowy fiction (however successful) to her rediscovered faith in Christ and her literary pursuit on that new track, saying, "…I hope that the Lord will accept the books I'm writing now."
It's apparently Rice's goal to continue the Christ The Lord series, as the author states that she wants to "make Him [Jesus] real to people who don't believe in Him; or people who have never really tried to believe in Him."
