"She knows how much she has blessed my life. Nobody's ever done anything like that for me before, and I hope that I can repay the favor."
(Dallas)—When 200 North Texas homes came up for auction recently, a woman named "Tracy"—whose foreclosed home was one being auctioned off—was there. As hundreds of bargain hunters began bidding on the homes, Tracy broke down in tears waiting for her home, No. 73 on the list, to come up.
According to a report on WFAA TV, a complete stranger by the name of Marilyn Mock noticed Tracy crying and asked her what was wrong. Tracy explained her situation, telling Mock that her house was not just a "house" to her, but it had been her "home."
Mock began bidding on House No. 73—without any confirmation as to its condition or value—ultimately purchasing it for less than $30,000.
Mock is reportedly planning to meet with Tracy in the next few weeks to work out the details of her return. "People need to help each other, and that's all there is to it," she said.
Said Tracy: "She [Mock] knows how much she has blessed my life. Nobody's ever done anything like that for me before, and I hope that I can repay the favor."
