Calling young adults into a lifestyle of radical prayer, fasting and holiness.
(La Mesa, California)—Dozens of young Christians have made it their full-time job to pray for the release of revival in America. So says a recent report in the LA Times depicting "Houses of Prayer," such as The Justice House of Prayer San Francisco, established in 2005 by followers of the Rev. Lou Engle. Within these houses of prayer, [prayer warriors] "have forsaken traditional lives to live in communal homes for the purpose of praying all day, every day."

One of the women featured in the article is Missy Huff, originally from Alabama, who at the age of 17 heard Engle speak at a local church about starting houses of prayer in cities across the country, to "call young adults into a lifestyle of radical prayer, fasting and holiness." "What he said, it gripped my heart," Huff said, "and I just knew this is what I wanted to do."

According to the report, on Friday nights intercessors in San Francisco often head to the Castro district, the center of the city's gay community, to play guitars and sing and share about the love of Jesus.
