"I don't think anything beats one-on-one tutoring, and I am allowed to talk and teach each of my children individually based on their strengths and weaknesses and learning styles."
(Washington, D.C.)—More than 2,000 Christian women gathered in Washington, D.C. the last weekend of September at the Aglow International Conference to pray for a spiritual awakening in America and for the upcoming presidential election.
The theme of this year's gathering was "A Voice for the Times: Calling Women to Transform their Nation." (Photo: Christian Post)
"In this pivotal election year, it is critical that the voices of evangelical women and spiritual mothers be raised," said Jane Hansen Hoyt, president of Aglow International. "We must pray for America's future and participate in public life. [Women] hold 52 to 54 percent of the voting power in our nation.
It is critical that women become involved in the political process, that their voice be heard."
"We have come to the nation's Capitol to focus prayer on government, family, the Church, media, education, science/business/technology and arts/entertainment," Hoyt said of the "seven spheres" of life Christians need to influence.
