Don't you love it when the great diversity within Christianity is made manifest? What a testimony to the unity of the saints in Christ.
(Lake Kinneret, Israel)—Israelis have had their interest piqued by the "highly unusual" sight of a group of visiting Native Americans, Maoris and Inuit sailing on Lake Kinneret in a canoe.
According to a Haaretz report, the visitors were part of a group of 450 members of tribal peoples who are currently visiting Israel for a conference. Most of them are reportedly Christians with a high regard for Israel who are "seeking to maintain their evangelical faith while also trying to preserve their native heritage and culture." The report states that the group toured traditional pilgrimage sites and met with kibbutz members in the Galilee area.
Thursday, Michal Amir Ben Asher—one of the managers at the hotel the group is staying in—said: "This is a very interesting meeting of cultures. It's very colorful. We get groups of pilgrims all the time here, but this is a unique group indeed."
