"Healing encompassed at least 80 percent of Jesus' ministry. The healing school has helped people get in touch with that and blessed so many lives."
(Temple Terrace, Florida)—People attending Faith Life Church's Healing School have many testimonies to share.
"I had four ruptured discs in my back, and the doctor said I needed surgery," said Tony Calderon. "He started me on painkillers. I was taking three pills in the morning and three at night just to get by. I could hardly move. Then, I started coming to healing school. One night, when I left, I was crying. I got in the car, and I said then and there: 'No more, Jesus. I'm not taking the pills anymore. I am healed in the name of Jesus.'" (Tribune Photo by Kelvin Ma)
Days later, according to a Tampa Tribune report, Calderon was pain-free, crediting the school with giving him a new perspective on sickness and disease.
The school was founded in 2003 by pastors Ken and Gail Anderson, who "do not deny the potential benefits of modern medicine...They simply believe God is one step above the doctors, a power capable of ultimately defeating all discomfort."
"We do not deny sickness," Ken Anderson, who himself was healed of Hepatitis C, said. "We deny its right to stay in your body. The Word says he that believes in healing has healing."
Adds Gail Anderson: "We believe in working with the doctors. The doctors want you to be well, and God wants you to be well."
Reporter Sarah Rothwell writes that the Andersons have worked with cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, taking them to doctor's appointments and visiting them in the hospitals, and have seen miracles and healings in the process.
