"It is not an easy pathway."
It's been evident in China—amid persecution, the underground Church has grown exponentially. Now, according to a report by CBN News, Christianity in Iran appears to be on the rise.
Todd Nettleton, with Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) explained, "The people look around, they see the poverty, they see the discontent, they're not happy so they have questions."
The house Church movement is increasing, although, notes Nettleton, it is not without a price. "The people are arrested, they're harassed, they're persecuted, in some cases they are beaten severely. It is not an easy pathway," he said.
Reportedly, Christianity is not new to Iran. Persians are thought to be among those who were present in Jerusalem at Pentecost, and the Gospel is said to have been preached there some 500 years before Islam.
