"He's our little miracle baby. That's what they called him at the hospital—a miracle, Billy the Whizz."
(United Kingdom)—Thirty-eight-year-old Jayne Jones had no idea her pregnancy wasn't routine, until an ultrasound at 27 weeks revealed her baby was growing in her abdomen instead of her uterus.
In most cases such as this, the baby never reaches that point in gestation; typically dying within weeks or days after conception.
But, not Billy.
After reportedly collapsing in pain ten days after her ultrasound, Jayne was rushed to the hospital where pioneering surgery—never before performed in Britain—was done to deliver her baby boy. (Photo by: Les Wilson)
According to the article in the Telegraph-UK, little Billy was born on April 19th weighing only 2 lbs., 2 oz., and immediately placed inside a special plastic bag in an incubator.
"He's our little miracle baby," exclaimed Jayne. "That's what they called him at the hospital—a miracle, Billy the Whizz."
