"She knew to pray, and that's my hope—that whatever happened, she knew to pray."
(Portage La Prairie, MB)—It's been about 2½ months since Bernice and Wilfred Catcheway last talked to their 18-year-old daughter, Jennifer Leigh, who disappeared on June 19th.
But the family is not about to give up hope…or faith.
"The only thing sustaining me is my faith in God," says Bernice, who pastors the Pentecostal congregation, Harvest Call Ministries.
In the Christian Week report by Aaron Epp, Rev. Catcheway admits to being "physically tired," especially after the continual searches. She takes comfort in the fact that her daughter trusts in God, like her parents, and that she knows her daughter will pray.
Members of Harvest Call have been assisting in searches, and have marveled, and been encouraged by the strength of their pastor in the midst of the ordeal.
Bernice continues to point to the Lord, noting that "God's ways are higher; His purposes are higher," she says. "I want to preach to people that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. If I can tell someone and they can receive that truth, then it's all good."
Bernice added that if her daughter is found, she'll "dance like David danced…"
