"It is more than just a dream, it is a miracle. America contains the best things of many nations."
(Boise, Idaho)—A physical embodiment of the words written inside the Statue of Liberty—"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..."—Iraqi refugee Alaa Amir and his son Mustafa recently left their homeland in fear for their lives, and have found freedom and an exciting new life in Boise, Idaho.
While more than 2 million refugees have fled Iraq to neighboring countries, only a small amount have been able to emigrate to America. Amid criticism of the process being "too slow" in accepting refugees to the U.S. from Iraq, the State Department plans to step up that procedure.

Boise is reportedly one of 200 cities selected to welcome Iraqi refugees. Reception of the Iraqis has been mostly good, with the disturbing exception of offensive leaflets left on a lawn by the kkk.
One of the agencies reaching out to Boise's new residents is the Christian organization, World Relief Treasure Valley.
"We are basically their parents when they come to Boise," Affiliate Director Larry Jones told CBN News. "We meet them at the airport. We take them to an apartment that we've already furnished with donated furniture and food."
For Amir and his son, it's not just a new and safer location; it's the opportunity of a lifetime. "It is more than just a dream, it is a miracle," he says. "America contains the best things of many nations."
