According to a report in the Charlotte Observer, the youth will be competing at a national level in 57 categories including photography, voice, film and even a short sermon category.
But, says Assemblies' national youth director Jay Mooney, the true purpose is for "kids to celebrate the gifts of God and perform in Jesus' name."
"I love coming, because I think it brings people together from all over the country," said second-time participant Camille Tercero, 17, from New Mexico. "We're all here to share our talents with each other and use them to glorify Jesus, and the energy is amazing."
