"Grief is this windy road. And sometimes you turn the corner and you've got a straightaway and it's beautiful. And then you can turn a corner at the end of that straightaway and it's thunderstorms and mountains and it can be hard, even within the same day."

I was able to catch Good Morning America's (GMA) exclusive interview with Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife Mary Beth on Wednesday morning, this week. Be forewarned; it was a tearjerker. (Photo: ABC News/GMA)
The video clips shown on the program revealed how dedicated the Chapmans are to their children and how devoted they were to Maria, the daughter they lost recently in a tragic car mishap. Listening to the couple share their love for Maria, and the struggles they still experience along with the faith that keeps them strong, was powerful. I doubt there was a dry eye in the studio after the interview.
At one point, Chapman's daughter Emily summarized their feelings: "Grief is this windy road," she said. "And sometimes you turn the corner and you've got a straightaway and it's beautiful. And then you can turn a corner at the end of that straightaway and it's thunderstorms and mountains and it can be hard, even within the same day."
Her father, Steven, responded: "But that's what faith is. It's living with the questions. That doesn't mean you have the answers. That's exactly what faith is."
