"It is very moving for me to know that the Christian organizations which were in very close contact with my father are at our side and are helping us perpetuate his memory."
(Jerusalem, Israel)—According to a report by the Jerusalem Post, three Evangelical Christian organizations have teamed up and together provided $15,000; what was needed for the Yuri Shtern Foundation—an alternative cancer treatment center—to continue operating.
The center was established in memory of MK Yuri Shtern, who was the founder of the Knesset's Christian Allies Caucus, and who passed away last year after his own battle with cancer. (Photo: Late MK Yuri Shtern/by Ariel Jerozolimski [file])
Offering alternative treatments for cancer patients at Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem, and Hadassah-University Medical Center at Ein Kerem, the Yuri Shtern Foundation provides their services free of charge so they will be accessible to all those who need them.
Appreciative of the Christians' help, MK Yuri Shtern's son, Marik—Director-General of the foundation—said, "It is very moving for me to know that the Christian organizations which were in very close contact with my father are at our side and are helping us perpetuate his memory."
