"Their 'Garden o' Feedin' produced more than 20,000 pounds of vegetables in 2007."
(Boise, Idaho)—Recently, CBN's 700 Club saluted the Boise Vineyard Christian Fellowship, for their innovative benevolence program.
According to the report, Pastor Tri Robinson has encouraged his congregation for some 20 years to reach out to those who are needy in their community. When he realized many in his church had "green thumbs," they began a special "Garden o' Feedin'" which—in 2007—produced over 20,000 pounds of vegetables and fed almost 1,300 families. (Photo: CBN)
"…here it's actually like a farmer's market where [the needy] can come in and have fresh produce, which is very unique and it makes them feel special," explained Pastor Robinson.
Boise Vineyard also runs a food pantry and a free medical clinic as part of their benevolence program.
