"Over the years, many local churches have been praying for God to bring revival here. We believe that this event could be a very significant one in bringing about a Christian awakening on a scale not seen in our land for years."
(Inverclyde, Scotland)—The town of Inverclyde is preparing for a major international Christian revival conference in November.
Greg Gordon of the Canadian Christian group Sermonindex explained why he decided to hold the event: "There was a building hunger in a core group of denominations in the Greenock area to see a genuine Biblical revival. I was contacted and laid it out before the Lord. After weeks of prayer God began to confirm that we were to have a conference there. This event is bigger than any speaker, we are coming to meet with and petition God to see a spiritual awakening."
Fraser Donaldson of Inverclyde Christian Initiative said: "For some time now we have been meeting together on a regular basis to seek revival in Inverclyde and beyond. In addition, over the years, many local churches have been praying for God to bring revival here. We believe that this event could be a very significant one in bringing about a Christian awakening on a scale not seen in our land for years."
"So many people are looking for answers these days," he added, "days in which traditional and God-given values are being eroded at great speed, and we are asking God through this conference to let His presence be known in this part of Scotland in great power, power which brings about great changes in peoples' lives and their well-being."
