Ted and Sandra Sealy receive recognition for their grass-roots ministry to save and strengthen families.
(The Bahamas)—After being mentored and tutored for 19 years by Dr. Myles Munroe, Ted and Sandra Sealy minister together as a team to help strengthen marriages in the Caribbean.
The name of their ministry is "Marriage Keepers," and they have dedicated their lives to helping all couples, those married or planning to marry as well as those separated or divorced. They believe the Bahamas can be changed "one couple at a time."
Their ministry has been effective enough that they were recently featured in The Nassau Guardian. According to the report, The Sealys insist that every marriage can be strengthened and every marriage saved and list some of the greatest factors they see as being responsible for the breakdown of families. They are:
• Lack of trust, loyalty, transparency and commitment
• Lack of leadership by fathers in the home
• Poor communication skills
• Failure to discipline children, as required
• Lack of knowledge and good relationship skills
• Lack of respect: husbands for wives; wives for husbands, children for their parents, and parents for their children
• Failure of the couple to submit to each other and meet each other's emotional needs
• Lack of budgeting skills
• Failure to seek help at the first sign of problems
