(United States)—The debate over appropriate seasonal marketing salutations continues to rage, some stores choosing a more generic and "politically correct" route, and others staying true to the unique meaning behind the December 25th celebration. According to a Christian Post article, there is even a published listing this year, known as the "Naughty or Nice" list, of which stores use the traditional, or generic greetings.
Meanwhile, a recent Rasmussen Reports survey revealed that most Americans (67%) would rather hear and see the phrase, "Merry Christmas" than "Happy Holidays" (26%), in stores. (Photo: AP Images/David Zalubowski)
The survey also polled respondents on whether they would attend a special church service for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. Those who said they would attend numbered 57 percent, most of them women, while 30 percent responded that they would not.
