According to the REUTERS report, Red Crescent workers and local officials had confirmed 587 deaths, on Friday morning. In addition to the driving storm, a 15-foot tidal surge—triggered by the Cyclone—battered 3 coastal towns, while 3.2 million people were evacuated.
Disaster ministry official, Ayub Miah, remarked, "It will take several days to complete the search and know the actual casualty figure and extent of damage to property."
