"Frank is one of the most courageous men I know. His willingness to publicly share his struggle, at a time when such a topic was taboo, has changed the lives of men and women all over the world."
78-year-old Frank Worthen has been called the "Founding Father" and the "Mother Teresa" of the ex-gay community. His testimony is absolutely tremendous. Having been a homosexual for 25 years, his life-story is an encouragement to those praying for loved ones who have embraced a homosexual lifestyle.
When Frank was 44, he said he distinctly heard God say to him: "Today, I want you back." It was, reportedly, so real to him, according to an article in Cross Ministry, that since that day, he surrendered his life to Christ and has "neither looked back nor held anything back from God since."
Adhering to preacher Adrian Rogers' admonition that "a Christian with a testimony is more powerful than an atheist with a million arguments." Worthen began to place advertisements in San Francisco's most notoriously homosexual newspapers. They simply read: "Do you want out of homosexuality? Request my testimony on tape."
Alan Chambers, President of Exodus International, says of Worthen, "Frank is one of the most courageous men I know. His willingness to publicly share his struggle, at a time when such a topic was taboo, has changed the lives of men and women all over the world. To me Frank is not an electrifying speaker—he is a simplifying speaker. His message is simple. "Homosexuality is one of a myriad of sins. Christ died for sin. Would you give your life to Jesus?"
