"I noticed how the animals were a non-threatening draw. You know, the Bible says, 'The Lord makes you fishers of men.' So I call Black Jack my bait."
(Atlanta, Ga.)—Couy Griffin is a "real-life" cowboy who has been traveling from the west coast to the east coast on his horse Daisy, along with Black Jack, a miniature mule, trailing close behind. According to a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, it's his second year riding across the United States in what he calls "horseback street ministry." (Photo by: Rich Addicks/AIC)
Just last year alone, notes reporter Elizabeth Cobb, Griffin passed out more than 4,500 pocket-sized gospels of John to curious people.
Says Cobb: "He [Griffin] grew up rodeoing and spent six years as a professional cowboy in Paris working as part of the Wild West Show in EuroDisney." When that came to an end, he prayed for guidance as to what to do next.

To pay for his journey from the west coast to the east coast, Griffin reportedly has spent the last few winters working in his family's sawmilling business and guiding elk hunters in his hometown of Reserve, New Mexico.
