Family and Christian organizations urge Californians to pray and take action today.
According to several pro-family organizations, a dangerous bill?SB 48?is set to be presented on Wednesday afternoon in the California Assembly Education Committee. It will be introduced by state Sen. Mark Leno.
The Campaign for Children and Families (CCF) calls the measure the "worst school sexual indoctrination bill ever" and notes that?if passed?SB 48 would "require all students in social studies class to admire 'lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender' role models.'"
Even the LA Times published an editorial against the bill saying that "the decision to include 'the role and contributions' of gay Americans in our textbooks should be left to educators and textbook writers, not politicians."
According to the CCF, passage of the bill would mean:
1. Textbooks and instructional materials must positively promote "lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans" as "role" models.
2. Children as young as kindergarten will be taught to admire homosexuality, same-sex "marriages," bisexuality, and transsexuality (sex-change operations).
3. Children will be enticed into political activism in support of everything pushed by "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Questioning" political groups, as the bill requires "particular emphasis on portraying the role of these groups in contemporary society."
4. Teachers will be made to positively portray homosexuality, same-sex "marriages," bisexuality, and transsexuality (sex-changes operations), because to be silent opens them up to the charge of "reflecting adversely."
5. School boards will be made to select textbooks and other instructional materials that positively portray sex-change operations, same-sex "marriages," and much more, because to be silent on these subjects opens them up to charges of "reflecting adversely."
6. Parents will not be able to exempt their children from this objectionable material.
