"Everyone has the right to life and human dignity; the life of a fetus will be protected from conception." -Hungarian Constitution
A new Hungarian constitution will be adopted by super-majority today. This new constitution is being coined as "a constitution for the 21st Century" and protects the dignity of every human person. It will take effect January 1, 2012. (Graphic: Flag of Hungary/33ff.com)
Article 2 of the new constitution states: "Human dignity is inviolable. Everyone has the right to life and human dignity; the life of a fetus will be protected from conception."
Article 3 of the constitution goes further in protecting the personhood rights of all humans by protecting humans from trafficking, medical experimentation and human cloning.
"Personhood USA applauds the new constitution of Hungary. Their '21st century constitution' is an example to the entire EU and to us here in the USA," stated Keith Mason, Co-Founder of Personhood USA.
In 2009, Personhood USA teamed with the San Jose-based prolife group Live Action to educate and advocated for a similarly principled Constitution in the Dominican Republic. The new DR constitution was approved and the right to life is protected for all humans who live there. (Photo: PersonhoodUSA)
"As civilization ended the horrific practice of slavery in preparation of the 20th century, to be pro-human and pro-life every society must recognize the God given right to life of every human," continued Mason. "We must fight aggressively and boldly to protect every human as a person with dignity."
Personhood USA is working in all 50 states and on the federal level to constitutionally affirm personhood rights for all humans regardless of age.
The Personhood USA team also works to support and assist around the globe to protect the dignity of humans.
