Major Earthquake Hits 80 Miles Off the Coast of Northern California

According to news reports, an earthquake registering between 7.0 to 7.4 rattled the northern coast of California Tuesday night (6/14).

The quake, which hit about 80 miles off the coast of Crescent City, set off automatic tsunami alerts in some coastal areas, though in most cases the warnings have been called off.
