Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat to Attend Jerusalem Event Marking Global Day of Prayer for Jerusalem

(Jerusalem, Israel)?Millions of Christians around the world will join together the same day on Sunday October 3, 2010 to pray during the Global Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ).

In Jerusalem the prayer day will be marked by a special live televised celebration on October 3 at the Tayelet Haas Promenade on Daniel Yanofsky Street, overlooking the Old City.

Hundreds of thousands will view the televised Jerusalem celebration on the GOD TV international network, while people from more than 300,000 churches are expected to participate in the prayer day in over 175 nations.

The local Jerusalem Celebration of the DPPJ on October 3 is being held in cooperation with the Jerusalem Municipality, the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus, and the Israel Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Tourism.
