"Mrs. Reid has a broken nose, broken back and broken neck. Lana has a neck injury and facial lacerations."
On Thursday night, March 11th, Senate majority leader Harry Reid's wife, Landra, and daughter, Lana, were driving on Virginia state I-95 when they were rear-ended by a tractor trailer truck, forcing them to hit the Grand Cherokee in front of them, which hit another car.
Reid's wife and daughter were taken by ambulance to Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA, where Lana was treated and released, but 69-year-old Landra was listed in serious condition, though it was said she would not need surgery.
Sen. Reid's spokesman Jim Manley said in a statement on Thursday, "Mrs. Reid has a broken nose, broken back and broken neck. Lana has a neck injury and facial lacerations."
Manley also noted that Mrs. Reid was able to feel her extremities.
